A doctoral dissertation at the University of Basra explores fertilization and foliar stimulation techniques to increase broccoli production.

A doctoral dissertation at the College of Agriculture, University of Basra, investigated "The Effect of Iron, Boron, and Sorbitol Foliar Spraying on the Growth and Yield of Two Broccoli Hybrids."

The dissertation, submitted by researcher Hamed Hamoud Mahawish, aimed to evaluate the response of broccoli to foliar spraying with these treatments and the effect of their concentrations on vegetative, physiological, productive, chemical, and qualitative characteristics.

The results showed the superiority of the iron and boron treatments at concentrations of 150 and 100 mg/L, respectively, and the sorbitol treatment at a concentration of 10 g/L in most of the studied characteristics, in addition to the superiority of the Umbrella hybrid.

The study recommended adopting these treatments and conducting future studies with different concentrations and hybrids.
