The College of Agriculture at the University of Basrah organized a seminar titled "The Effect of Developmental Stages on the Histological Structure of the Digestive System of the Eastern Shovelnose Ray (*Glaucostegus granulatus*) in Khor Al-Zubair, Southern Iraq."
Presented by researcher Zahraa Qasim Madloul, the seminar aimed to identify the histological changes occurring in the digestive system of the Eastern Shovelnose Ray across various growth stages and to examine their relationship with diet and the prevailing environmental conditions in the study area.
The session addressed changes in the histological structure of the esophagus, stomach, and intestines in relation to growth stages. It also covered the analysis of diet and growth-related morphological traits, alongside the measurement of environmental factors such as temperature, salinity, and water transparency.
The seminar recommended conducting further comprehensive studies linking histological changes with growth stages, as well as environmental and dietary factors, to enhance the understanding of how the Eastern Shovelnose Ray adapts to the environmental conditions of Khor Al-Zubair.
