The College of Agriculture at the University of Basrah honors the academic career of Dr. Laila Abdul-Rahim Bunyan on the occasion of her retirement.

In an atmosphere filled with loyalty and appreciation for her dedicated service, the Department of Plant Protection at the College of Agriculture, University of Basrah, held a delightful ceremony to honor Dr. Layla Abdul-Rahim Bunyan upon her retirement, recognizing her distinguished academic and educational career.

The event was organized under the supervision of the Head of the Plant Protection Department, Dr. Alaa Hassan Radhi, and Dr. Mohammed Hamza Abbas. In their speeches, they highlighted Dr. Layla Abdul-Rahim’s pioneering role in laying the department's foundations and establishing its academic pillars.

The ceremony was attended by the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Sadiq Jabbar Mohsen, and the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Wael Ali Swadi.

The event showcased her prolific scientific and research output, which has enriched academic and research libraries, as well as her pivotal role in training and graduating generations of researchers and specialists at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
