The Dean of the College of Agriculture at the University of Basrah conducts an inspection visit to the laboratories of the Department of Fish and Marine Resources and the Fish Farming Unit.

Professor Dr. Sarmad Ghazi Mohammed Al-Shawi, Dean of the College of Agriculture at the University of Basrah, conducted a field inspection visit to the laboratories of the Department of Fisheries and Marine Resources and the College’s fish farming unit. This visit reflects the Dean's commitment to monitoring the progress of educational and research activities and assessing the actual infrastructure needs of the laboratories.

The inspection tour included an examination of classrooms and specialized laboratories, as well as the tanks and facilities of the fish farming unit.

During the visit, the Dean reviewed ongoing scientific and research experiments and listened to detailed presentations from faculty members and researchers regarding work plans and the level of preparedness for the practical training and qualification of students.

Dr. Al-Shawi emphasized that the College administration prioritizes the development of infrastructure for practical training—particularly in the fisheries sector, which is a cornerstone of Basrah Governorate's agricultural landscape. He also directed that all obstacles hindering operations in the laboratories and the production unit be overcome, stressing the need to harness all resources to support rigorous scientific research and enhance student skills.

At the conclusion of the tour, the Dean expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the department head, faculty members, researchers, and staff at the fish farming unit, urging everyone to continue their dedicated work for the benefit of the College, the University, and the community.
