Dr. Hanaa Ali Jabbar, a faculty member at the College of Agriculture, University of Basra, participated in a training course for agricultural engineers entitled "Periodic Feed Inspection to Ensure Animal Health," as part of the courses offered by the university's Continuing Education Center.
The course aimed to develop participants' skills in evaluating feed quality from both nutritional and health perspectives, interpreting chemical analysis results, and relating them to animal performance and nutritional needs.
The course covered the nutritional value of feed, energy, protein, fiber, and mineral balance, as well as the risks of mycotoxins, microbial contamination, and chemical pollutants, and how to utilize analysis reports to make sound nutritional decisions.
The course recommended adopting periodic feed inspection within ongoing monitoring programs that combine accurate laboratory analysis with nutritional interpretation, contributing to improved production performance and the maintenance of animal health.
