Basra University organizes a scientific workshop on osteoporosis and the role of food in preventing it

The Department of Food Sciences at the College of Agriculture, University of Basra, organized a scientific workshop on osteoporosis and the role of healthy nutrition in preventing it The workshop aimed to show the most important factors contributing to this disease and preventing it through the use of diets that provide the body with vitamins, protein, calcium and calories it needs. To quit smoking and alcohol because of their negative effects on the bones. 5- The need to avoid exposing ourselves to falls, and to avoid carrying heavy weights, which can harm the health of bones, especially the spine. 6. Exposure to the sun for a period not exceeding 15 minutes a day, between eight and ten in the morning, during the day, for 3 days a week 7. You should consult your doctor if you take these supplements or any other supplements with the medications he prescribes, because many of them interfere with the absorption of calcium 8.
