A teacher at the University of Basrah participates in a training course entitled (Management and Service of Palm Orchards)

The teaching staff at the College of Agriculture at the University of Basrah (Prof. Dr. Hamza Abbas Hamza) participated in the training course (Management and Service of Palm Orchards), which was held (online) at the Agricultural Training and Extension Center in the Ministry of Agriculture The participation included giving three lectures, the first (the economic feasibility of establishing palm orchards), the second (the annual palm service program) and the third (post-harvest transactions of date palm fruits). The lectures aim to encourage investors in the field of agriculture to grow and propagate date palms in Iraq and to train agricultural engineers on how to implement an annual program for palm service and how to package the palm fruits after harvest The lectures included a detailed presentation of the fixed and variable costs and net profits for the establishment of an orchard with an area of ​​one acre. Fertilization, control, irrigation and palm service programs are scheduled throughout the months of the year, which ensures increased production and improved fruit quality.
