The University of Basra organizes a scientific field visit for animal production students to the hatcheries and fields of the consulting office.

The College of Agriculture at the University of Basra organized an extensive field trip for third- and fourth-year students in the Animal Production Department. The trip included visits to the university's hatcheries and broiler farms (cage system) belonging to the Agricultural Consulting Office, as part of the college's plan to integrate theoretical curricula with practical applications.

The visit aimed to provide students with firsthand experience of the egg-receiving process, familiarize them with the administrative and technical aspects of the facility, and offer a detailed explanation of the operation of incubators and hatcheries, as well as egg management methods during the various stages of incubation.

The visit also included a tour of the broiler farms using the cage system, where a scientific explanation was provided on the latest modern breeding systems and the advantages they offer in providing an ideal growth environment. The organizers emphasized the crucial role of genetics in developing the poultry industry and how to improve growth rates and increase flock productivity.

The Dean of the College of Agriculture affirmed that these visits are part of its ongoing efforts to enhance applied education and prepare qualified specialists with the field skills necessary to keep pace with the rapid developments in the animal production sector, thus serving the labor market and the agricultural sector in Basra Governorate.

The visit witnessed significant student engagement through the posing of scientific questions and discussions of field challenges with professors and supervisors, which contributed to solidifying academic knowledge and translating it into tangible practical experience.
