In its pursuit of enhancing the quality of its academic programs and obtaining program accreditation, and in accordance with Ministerial Order No. 1305/6321 dated January 19, 2026, which established two teams to evaluate agricultural college programs, the relevant ministerial committees visited the College of Agriculture at the University of Basrah to conduct field evaluations of the Bachelor's degree programs in the Department of Soil Science and Water Resources and the Department of Agricultural Machinery and Equipment, and to fulfill the requirements for granting program accreditation.
The evaluation team for the Department of Soil Science and Water Resources included Professor Dr. Abdulwahab Abdulrazzaq Saeed, Head of the National Council for Accreditation of Agricultural College Programs, as supervisor; Professor Dr. Basim Shaker Owaid, University of Tikrit – College of Agriculture, as chair; Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Sabah Ali Al-Husseini, University of Qadisiyah – College of Agriculture; Lecturer Dr. Mohammed Radhi Saheb, University of Al-Qasim Al-Khadra – College of Agriculture; and Assistant Professor Ahmed Luay Ahmed, representing the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority – Accreditation Department.
The evaluation team for the Department of Agricultural Machinery and Equipment included Professor Dr. Dilshad Rasoul Al-Aziz, a member of the National Council for Accreditation of Agricultural Colleges Programs at Kirkuk University – College of Agriculture, as supervisor; Professor Dr. Ahmed Jawad Abdul-Ali from Al-Muthanna University – College of Agriculture, as chair; Assistant Professor Dr. Samer Badri Salman from Baghdad University – College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences; Assistant Professor Dr. Akram Abdul-Kadhim Hadi from Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University – Al-Musayyib Technical College; and Assistant Professor Ahmed Luay Ahmed, representing the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority – Accreditation Department.
The ministerial committees formed by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research/Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority – Quality Assurance and Academic Accreditation Department/Accreditation Section reviewed the documentation and files related to the two programs and conducted on-site assessments of the scientific capabilities, infrastructure, and human resources. This represents a significant step towards achieving program accreditation, reflecting the college's commitment to quality standards and enhancing the educational process.
