The College of Agriculture at the University of Basra organized a seminar entitled "The Physiological Effect of Water and Heat Stress During the Growth Stages of Wheat."
The seminar, presented by researcher Hakam Mamoun Rashid, aimed to evaluate the physiological impact of water and heat stress during the various growth stages of wheat. It focused on the most important physiological indicators related to growth and productivity, with the goal of obtaining results that can be used to improve the production of this vital crop.
The seminar included a review of several scientific studies and field experiments that evaluated the performance of different wheat varieties and genetic combinations under varying levels of water and heat stress at specific growth stages. The results showed that water and heat stress led to a significant decrease in plant growth stages and impacted yield and its components.
