Under the slogan "Our College is Green," the College of Agriculture at the University of Basra is organizing a large-scale tree-planting campaign with the participation of the college's deanship and staff.

With confident steps towards enhancing the university environment and achieving sustainable development goals, the College of Agriculture at the University of Basra organized a major volunteer campaign to plant trees and seedlings in the college's corridors and gardens.

The campaign witnessed the active participation of the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Sarmad Ghazi Mohammed Al-Shawi, the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, as well as the heads of the academic departments, and a wide range of faculty members, staff, and a large number of students.

During his participation in the field, the Dean emphasized that this campaign is part of the college's ongoing efforts to improve the aesthetic appearance of the campus and increase green spaces, thus contributing to creating a stimulating and environmentally friendly learning environment. He added, "The participation of students alongside professors in these initiatives strengthens the spirit of social responsibility and instills the values ​​of volunteer work in our students."

The campaign included planting various types of evergreen trees that are suitable for the climatic conditions. Roles were distributed among the volunteer teams to ensure that all designated areas were covered for planting.

The participants expressed great enthusiasm, noting that this event was not merely an agricultural activity, but a powerful message reflecting the College of Agriculture's role as a leading scientific and practical force in environmental and agricultural initiatives within the university and the wider community.

The campaign concluded with the Dean expressing his gratitude to all who contributed to the success of this volunteer effort, emphasizing the continuation of such initiatives to encompass all college facilities in the future.
