A teacher at Basrah University publishes scientific research in an international journal within the containers of Scopes and Clarafit

Dr. Asaad Rahman Saeed, a lecturer of Food Sciences department at the College of Agriculture, Basrah University,  cooperated with Dr. Alaa Muhammad Saleh Al-Musafir from the Ministry of Commerce and Dr. Mohsen Kalafyan from the Department of Food Science at Pingtung National University for Science and Technology published a scientific paper entitled Pilot-scale ohmic heating-assisted extraction of wheat bran bioactive compounds: Effects of the extract on corn oil stability in Food Research International The publisher is indexed in Scopes and Claravate, and the Journal has Q1 and impact factor of 4.97. The research dealt with designing a device for extracting antioxidants from wheat bran with the technique of first heating and studying its performance. The results showed that the device has high extraction efficiency and its specific energy consumption was low compared to the traditional method. The kinetics of peroxide development during the reservoir periods have also been studied by means of mathematical modeling and inferring mathematical equations to describe the degradation kinetics.
