Postgraduate students are resuming their research in Al-Hartha / North Basra

After the College of the Agriculture/University of Basra retrieved the old site of the Agricultural Research and Experimental Station situated in the Al-Hartha district north of Basra, Postgraduate students at the Department of Field Crops conducted their agricultural experiments at that station. These practical experiments are part of the requirements for a master's degree and a doctorate in agricultural sciences students have planted many winter crops such as wheat, barley, oats, and legumes for the 2020-2021 agricultural season as part of agricultural research that follows the scientific process of investigating information and results that are fallow the rules of scientific Procedures and statistics and then making decisions.

Investing in these lands and replanting them again benefits the students in terms of costs reducing on the student budget, especially students in the past who used to rent out some private fields in the agriculture privet sector to conduct their research and experiments. On the other hand, the farming of these lands has a financial return to college by maintaining and preserving the land. On the other side, these grown crops will be used to feed the animals in the experimental station.
