College of Agriculture at the University of Basrah holds its agricultural marketing festival

In the presence of the President of the University of Basra, Professor Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, and the Dean of the College of Agriculture, Assistant Professor Dr. Raghdan Hashem Mohsen, the College of Agriculture held its agricultural marketing festival, “The Dates and Their Products Festival,” in which many relevant companies and departments participated.

A large number of types of dates and their products were displayed at the festival. It also presented a number of models of diseases that affect palm trees and modern methods for treating them and protecting crops from them. The models included some insect infections that affect palm production, especially introduced insects (the red palm weevil) and the most important methods of controlling and preventing these insects.

These events are an opportunity to enhance communication and cooperation between the agricultural sector and interested companies, and they also aim to exchange knowledge and experiences in the field of agriculture and marketing its products.
