University of Basrah organizes a seminar on (micropropagation of hybrid papaya plants, Red Lady variety)

College of Agriculture at the University of Basrah organized a seminar on micropropagation of the hybrid papaya plant, Red Lady variety.
The seminar, in which Professor Dr. Majid Abdel Hamid Ibrahim lectured, aimed to propagate the hybrid papaya plant using tissue culture technology, as it is a seedless variety. The episode touched on the propagation of the hybrid papaya plant using tissue culture technique by using axillary and terminal buds. The seminar concluded that it is possible to spread this plant in the Basrah Governorate in southern Iraq through tissue culture technology method using axillary buds. The group recommended using the direct and indirect propagation method to grow axillary buds from hybrid papaya plants due to the quality and quality of the seedless fruits.
