Agriculture College at the University of Basra organized a seminar on the growing barley culture (hydroponic system), with different levels of nutrient solution and different seed rates, in the hall of the crop field department.
The seminar presented by the researcher, Sahar Khalaf Laftah, aimed at identifying the concept of hydroponics and its significance in the production of forage, including Barley
The seminar discussed growing barley hydroponically without soil with three levels of fertilization and three seed rates.
The seminar recommended that hydroponics be encouraged to grow barley as green fodder because it is an excellent method that provides high nutritional value for green fodder in all times particularly those in which green fodder supply is scarce, at a lower cost than the cost of conventional barley production (using soil) throughout the year and lower water consumption compared to traditional cultivation.
