The College of Agriculture at the University of Basra organized a seminar on the impact of starvation and refeeding on the physiological and nutritional aspects of common carp. The seminar, delivered by researcher Ibrahim Hassan Sahib, aimed to demonstrate that common carp are capable of achieving compensatory growth after short periods of starvation, which improves feed conversion efficiency.
The seminar also addressed the adoption of intermittent feeding strategies, which contributes to reducing feed costs and aquatic pollution while maintaining fish health and sustaining fish production.
