A faculty member from the University of Basra participates in a central job training course for the Department of Agricultural Extension and Training.

Professor Dr. Aqeel Hadi Abdul Wahid, a faculty member at the College of Agriculture, University of Basra, participated in delivering a scientific and practical lecture as part of the central training course organized by the Agricultural Extension and Training Department/Workforce Development Division in Basra Governorate.

The course aimed to develop the capabilities and skills of agricultural sector workers in the field of tissue culture date palm offshoot production, through introducing them to modern scientific and applied principles in this field.

The lecture included an explanation of the importance of date palm cultivation from economic, social, cultural, and strategic perspectives, as well as a review of the current state of date palm cultivation and its challenges in Iraq, and an explanation of the role of tissue culture date palms in revitalizing orchards and developing agricultural production.
