Basra University holds a workshop under the title of scientific cooperation between Basra University and Dutch scientific institutions

   Under the patronage and presence of the President of Basra University, Prof. Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Agriculture, Prof. Dr. Sajid Saad Hassan, the College of Agriculture held a workshop on Monday morning, November 2, 2020 under the title of scientific cooperation between Basra University and Dutch scientific institutions, which was presented by each of the professor Dr. Nawfal Abdel-Amir Hussein and Assistant Professor Dr. Mohsen AbdelHay Dashr.

     The lectures dealt with the nature of scientific cooperation between the College of Agriculture / University of Basra and the University of Wageningen in the Netherlands . Dasher pointed out that this cooperation is a project of a program that contributes to the sustainable and comprehensive development of society by enhancing the skills and knowledge of both individuals, groups and institutions. Orange Knowledge, which is funded by the Dutch government and managed by the Dutch Organization for Internationalization of Education (Nuffic), is an independent, non-profit organization based in The Hague, Netherlands, with many activities in the field of enhancing capacity building in developing countries.

    The cooperation included the participation of a group of postgraduate students and teachers in courses concerned with the soil and water resources sector as well as sustainable soil management, including the Soil for Life cycle. These courses have started since September and will continue until the end of next December. It is hoped that international participation certificates will be awarded from the Dutch University of Waghenhaten, which is considered the first university in Europe in the agricultural sector and water resources. To set up subsequent electronic courses. It is also hoped that some agricultural projects will be adopted in partnership with farmers in the governorate to support the agricultural sector.
