A research team from the University of Basra and La Spela University of Pakistan was able to record mitochondrial genes for the first time

A research team from the University of Basra and Lasbela University of Agriculture Water and Marine Sciences, Pakistan managed to record three mitochondrial genes of Iraqi Arabian sheep. The team consisted of Assistant Professor Dr. Hassan Nima Habib, Assistant Professor Dr. Wessam Monther Mohammed Saleh from Basra University, and Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Chalghari from Lasbela University of Pakistan. It is mentioned that this recording is the first of its kind in the world, especially since these sheep are found exclusively in Iraq.
