Basrah University holds a workshop under the title of scientific cooperation between Basrah University and Dutch scientific institutions

Under the patronage and presence of the President of Basra University, Prof. Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Dr. Sajid Saad Hassan, the Faculty of Agriculture held a workshop entitled Scientific Cooperation between Basra University and Dutch scientific institutions It was presented by Prof. Dr. Nawfal Abdel-Amir Hussein and Assistant Professor Dr. Mohsen Abdel-Hay Dashr. Lectures dealt with the importance of scientific cooperation between the College of Agriculture / University of Basra and the Dutch Wageningen University & Research Dr. Mohsen indicated that this cooperation is a project within a program that contributes to the sustainable and comprehensive development of society by enhancing the skills and knowledge of both individuals, groups and institutions. Profit based in The Hague, Netherlands, has extensive activities in promoting capacity building in developing countries. . The cooperation included the participation of a group of postgraduate students and teaching staff in courses concerned with the soil and water resources sector, as well as sustainable soil management, including the Soil for Life cycle. These courses began in September and will continue until the end of next December. It is hoped that international participation certificates will be awarded by the Dutch University of Waghenhattan, which is the first university in Europe in the agricultural sector and water resources, and which the university is ranked 59 in the world according to the Times Education classification According to the Times Higher Education classification, the cooperation will also include the establishment of a specialized interactive computer lab to establish subsequent electronic courses. It is also hoped that some agricultural projects will be adopted in partnership with farmers in the governorate to support the agricultural sector.
