The College of Agriculture at the University of Basrah participated in the 10th National Conference on Environment and Natural Resources, organized by the Department of Ecology at the College of Science, from October 29-30, 2025, under the theme "Protecting Our Environment, Conserving Our Water, Securing Our Food for a Sustainable Future."

The conference opening ceremony was attended by the President of the University of Basrah, Professor Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kadhim, the Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Haider Khazal Mahbas, the Dean of the College of Science, Professor Dr. Ali Abdul-Imam Abdul-Zahra, and a number of deans, researchers, and specialists in environmental affairs.

The conference saw the participation of the Dean of the College of Agriculture, Professor Dr. Sarmad Ghazi Mohammed, the Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Sadiq Mohsen Jabbar, heads of departments and units, and a number of faculty members. They presented scientific research papers addressing issues of sustainable environment, water, biodiversity, climate change, and sustainable agriculture, alongside researchers from within Iraq and abroad.

The participants emphasized the importance of strengthening scientific research and academic collaboration in addressing environmental challenges and achieving sustainable development, in line with the University of Basrah's commitment to supporting rigorous research projects and serving the community.
