The University of Basra is organizing a scientific seminar on coordinating open spaces and planning for future cities.

The College of Agriculture at the University of Basra organized a specialized scientific seminar on "Open Spaces: Importance, Challenges, and Future Visions."

The seminar, presented by Dr. Zain Al-Abidin Abdul Hussein Hanzal, aimed to address the fundamental importance of open spaces as a cornerstone of modern urban planning. He explained that these spaces play a pivotal role in improving quality of life and enhancing the mental and physical health of citizens, in addition to contributing to environmental sustainability and improving the efficiency of urban infrastructure.

Dr. Hanzal emphasized that open spaces represent multifunctional systems that combine aesthetics with environmental and social dimensions, making their design and management a complex challenge in light of rapid urbanization and climate change.
