Dr. Abdul Kadhim Nasser Saleh from the College of Agriculture at the University of Basra participated as a member of the doctoral dissertation committee for researcher Samer Hussein Alwan at the College of Agriculture, University of Tikrit. The dissertation, titled "The Effect of Mineral and Humic Fertilization and Salicylic Acid Spraying on the Biomass of Acacia Trees and the Amount of Carbon Dioxide Fixed from the Atmosphere," aimed to highlight the aesthetic and environmental importance of acacia trees and their effective role in reducing atmospheric carbon dioxide levels, thus contributing to mitigating environmental pollution.
The dissertation recommended recognizing the importance of this shrub in improving the carbon footprint and combating greenhouse gas emissions, emphasizing the need to encourage its cultivation in public and private gardens to enhance its environmental and aesthetic benefits.
