Basra University, College of Agriculture, a master's thesis was discussed under the title ( Effect of application different levels of agricultural sulfur fertilizer on growth and yield of Wheat varieties (Triticum aestivum L.).

The Master's thesis at the University of Basra's College of Agriculture evaluated the effect of adding different levels of agricultural sulfur fertilizer on the growth and yield of wheat varieties.

Researcher Abeer Sajid Zahir's thesis aimed to study the effect of adding different levels of agricultural sulfur fertilizer on the growth parameters and yield of four varieties of wheat yield.

The experiment was conducted in the winter season 2019-2020  to estimate the effect of apply different levels of sulfur agricultural fertilizer on some growth parameters of wheat crop (Triticum aestivum L.). Four levels of agricultural sulfur fertilizer were used at 0, 1, 2, 4 Ton S . ha-1 and four wheat varieties: IPA-99, IPA-95, Rasheed, and Baraka. The experiment was designed with a randomized complete block design with three replicates, varieties in the main block while levels of sulfur fertilizer in the sub-block.

The results of the experiment showed that the level of 4 ton.-1 of agricultural sulfur was superior in the number of tillers, the number of spikes, the number of grains per spike, and the grain yield. The interaction between sulfur level 4 ton.ha-1  with Al-Rasheed variety recorded the highest number of spikes, the highest number of tillers, and the highest number of grains per spike.

The recommendation from the study mention to conduct further studies adopting other varieties of wheat in addition to the two varieties, Rasheed and Baraka, Conducting studies that include increasing levels of sulfur fertilizer with wheat crop and determining the most appropriate sulfur level. Conducting similar studies with different crops in different regions with different levels of sulfur to find out the plant response to these fertilizers in improving growth, yield, and quality characteristics.
