The College of Agriculture at the University of Basra organized a seminar on "An Environmental Study of Some Invertebrates in Khor Al-Zubair."

The seminar, presented by researcher Hanan Abdul-Hafiz Ali, aimed to identify the macroinvertebrates present in the Khor Al-Zubair area, determine peak seasons, study some environmental factors, calculate biodiversity indices for the studied organisms, and compare these indices across different stations.

The study included measuring some environmental characteristics, density, and biomass of some benthic invertebrates, and utilizing biological and environmental indicators.

The study recommended addressing and reducing pollution and emphasized the necessity of continuous environmental monitoring of the Khor Al-Zubair environment to preserve biodiversity.
