University of Basra organizes a seminar on organic fertilizers

The College of Agriculture at the University of Basra organized a seminar on "Fertilizer Production and its Impact on the Environment."

The seminar, presented by Dr. Anaa Dawood Khammas, aimed to highlight the role of organic fertilizers in improving soil properties, enhancing nutrient availability, increasing water retention efficiency, contributing to the reduction of carbon emissions, and minimizing chemical pollution of soil and water sources caused by conventional fertilizers and pesticides.

The seminar emphasized that the shift towards organic fertilizer production is a fundamental pillar for the future of sustainable agriculture, as it is a safe and environmentally friendly option that ensures production quality and protects natural resources.
