The College of Agriculture at the University of Basra held an educational seminar entitled "The Role of the Family in Protecting Children from Violent Extremism," as part of the International Week for Countering Violent Extremism.
The seminar, presented by Dr. Sheikh Talib Al-Mansouri, aimed to raise awareness and promote critical thinking, starting from schools and extending to institutes and universities, to contribute to the nation's progress in the present and future. It also addressed countering malicious calls and deviant ideologies, and protecting individuals from having their minds manipulated and being drawn into a dark abyss.
The seminar included a discussion of the family's role in raising and guiding children, and protecting them amidst the current life circumstances and deviant global agendas prevalent in our world. Dr. Al-Mansouri illustrated this point by citing verses from the Holy Quran, Prophetic traditions, and sayings of the Imams of Guidance (peace be upon them) regarding building a righteous and strong family capable of raising children immune to extremist ideologies.
