University of Basra organizes a voluntary awareness activity at Al-Thaqalayn Cancer Hospital

The Women's Affairs Unit and the Media and Government Communication Division, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Agriculture, University of Basra, organized a voluntary awareness activity at Al-Thaqalayn Cancer Hospital. This initiative is part of their programs aimed at promoting health awareness and encouraging women to undergo preventative screenings for early cancer detection.

The activity included a field visit by a group of female faculty members and staff to the hospital. Specialized medical staff provided a detailed explanation of the nature of the examinations and procedures used for early cancer detection, highlighting the importance of these tests in increasing recovery rates and improving treatment outcomes. They also emphasized the ease and simplicity of the procedures, which helps reduce women's anxiety and fear about undergoing the examination.

This activity reflects the College of Agriculture's commitment to promoting health awareness and empowering women within the university and the wider community. It also strengthens cooperation between educational and medical institutions to disseminate a culture of early detection and disease prevention, in line with the University of Basra's mission to serve the community and improve public health.
