University of Basra organizes a training course on microbial safety tests for meat and its products

The College of Agriculture at the University of Basra organized a training course on "The Most Important Approved Quality Control Tests for Ensuring the Microbiological Safety of Meat and Meat Products."

The course, presented by Dr. Zainab Ali Kadhim, Dr. Nawal Khalid Zabin, and Instructor Manal Ali Ahmed, aimed to introduce students and participants to the fundamental concepts of meat and meat product safety, the role of microbiological testing in assessing meat quality and product safety, and to raise awareness of the importance of good hygiene practices during slaughter, transportation, and storage to minimize microbial contamination.

The course was designed for graduate and undergraduate students working in food testing and quality control laboratories, employees of meat production companies, and those responsible for evaluating food quality and safety.

With increasing concerns about foodborne illnesses, it is essential to be aware of meat sources and how they are processed by promoting rigorous testing practices to contribute to maintaining our health and the health of the community.
