Dr. Aqeel Aboud Suhaim, a faculty member at the College of Agriculture, University of Basra, participated as a member of the doctoral dissertation defense committee for researcher Mazen Amer Awain at the College of Agriculture, University of Tikrit. The dissertation, titled "Physiological and Molecular Response of Gardenia Plants to Spraying with the Amino Acid Cysteine, Sorbitol, and Nanoparticles In Vitro and In Vivo," aimed to study the response of in vitro-cultivated Gardenia plants to treatment with the amino acid cysteine, the sugar alcohol sorbitol, and nanoparticles, and their effect on growth, development, and rooting of vegetative shoots. It also evaluated the impact of these factors on the characteristics of seedlings grown under protected conditions and the associated gene expression.
