In response to the directives of the Supreme Religious Authority in Najaf regarding the necessity of providing relief to affected Muslim populations, and under the direct patronage of the President of the University of Basra, Professor Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kadhim Al-Asadi, and with on-site supervision by the Dean of the College of Agriculture, Professor Dr. Sarmad Ghazi Muhammad Al-Shawi, the college organized a large-scale campaign that witnessed a significant turnout of professors, staff, and students contributing donations and humanitarian aid to Iran and Lebanon.
During his inspection of the donation collection center, which was supervised by the college's Media and Government Communication Department, the Dean stated that this initiative stems from a moral, religious, and national responsibility towards our brothers and sisters. He emphasized that "the College of Agriculture has always been at the forefront of responding to humanitarian initiatives launched by the wise religious authority, which aim to strengthen the spirit of solidarity among nations." For their part, the college's students and staff expressed their pride in participating in this campaign, noting that this turnout reflects the depth of humanitarian and Islamic bonds, and the Basra University community's commitment to providing all possible support to alleviate the suffering of those affected in Lebanon and Iran due to the current circumstances.
It is worth mentioning that the University of Basra launched a major campaign encompassing all its departments to contribute to collecting in-kind and financial aid, in preparation for its delivery through the designated official channels.
