The College of Agriculture at the University of Basra receives the ministerial committees tasked with the field evaluation for the accreditation of the programs of the Department of Fisheries and Marine Resources and the Department of Animal Production.

In its pursuit of enhancing the quality of its academic programs and obtaining program accreditation, and in accordance with Ministerial Order No. 1305-30532 dated March 11, 2026, which established two teams to evaluate agricultural college programs, the relevant ministerial committees visited the College of Agriculture at the University of Basrah to conduct on-site evaluations of the Bachelor's degree programs in the Department of Fisheries and Marine Resources and the Department of Animal Production, and to fulfill the requirements for granting program accreditation.

The evaluation team for the Department of Fisheries and Marine Resources included Professor Dr. Fouad Abbas Salman, a member of the National Council for Accreditation of Agricultural College Programs at the University of Kufa, as supervisor; Professor Dr. Tariq Khalaf Hassan, from the University of Tikrit, College of Agriculture, as chair; Professor Dr. Thaer Rashid Mohammed, from the University of Anbar, College of Agriculture; Assistant Professor Dr. Imad Ali Obaid, from Al-Qasim Green University, College of Agriculture; and Lecturer Fadila Hussein Alawi, representing the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority – Accreditation Department.

The evaluation team for the Animal Production Department included Assistant Professor Dr. Hassan Hadi Hamza, a member of the National Council for Accreditation of Science Programs at Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University – Al-Musayyib Technical College, as supervisor; Professor Dr. Ahmed Jawad Abdul-Ali from Al-Muthanna University – College of Agriculture, as chair; and Lecturer Dr. Ali Nadhim Zaki from Sumer University – College of Agriculture, as a member, in addition to Lecturer Fadila Hussein Alawi, representing the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority – Accreditation Department.

The ministerial committees formed by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research/Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority – Quality Assurance and Academic Accreditation Department/Accreditation Section reviewed the documentation and files related to the two programs and conducted on-site assessments of the scientific capabilities, infrastructure, and human resources. This represents a significant step towards achieving program accreditation, reflecting the college's commitment to quality standards and enhancing the educational process.
